ANUx Funding for 2018

ANUx is currently looking to fund a number of new courses to be delivered via edX. This is a great opportunity to teaching teams to get funding and support to develop a new course or redevelop an existing course. Expressions of Interest

Funding and support for teaching teams who want to develop and deliver a MOOC in 2018 will be available via an expression of interest process. In previous years we have asked candidates to the pitch their idea to a panel. For 2018 we are offering a learning design consultation with one of our talented Learning Designers to help ensure an achievable MOOC plan. For more information about what to include in your expression of interest see the template below. All Expressions of interest should be no longer than 750 words.

• Who - List the teaching team and their skills/roles.
• Why this topic? (see review section for tips).
• Experience teaching online, large classes, and/or in teams.
• Overview of Course

Review

Expressions of interest will be reviewed by the panel. If you are successful during this stage will be invited to a Learning design consultation to assist in further exploring your ideas.

During this review we are looking for:

• Hot topics - Is your topic hot right now? Does your topic appeal to a global audience? How is your topic relevant? Does your topic showcase ANU's strengths? Is your approach to the topic new and fresh? Are you a world class researcher who wants to share their discipline to a large audience? Any of these would make your course an ideal candidate.
• Capacity to deliver - Teaching teams need to have the time and ability to deliver the course on time and within the constraints of the budget.
• Endorsement from ADE/Dean - The review panel will favour strongly those who have already sought endorsement (or involvement) from their School or College ADE or Dean.
• Prior experience (desirable) -  in teaching online/ working in team teaching

The Learning Design Consultation

Our Learning Designers will help you specify an achievable scope, timeline and budget. We will help with the discovery of requirements and resource needs, and provide advice on best practice. ANUx will also assist with planning and project management.

Funding & Contracts

After meeting with a learning designer and further developing your MOOC, timeline and budget, successful teams will sign an agreement for course delivery in 2018.
